The Windsor Boys’ School processes personal data about its pupils and is a “data controller” in respect of this for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998. It processes this data to:

 

• support its pupils’ teaching and learning;
• monitor and report on their progress;
• provide appropriate pastoral care, and
• assess how well the school as a whole is doing.

 

This data includes contact details, national curriculum assessment results, attendance information, characteristics such as ethnic group, special educational needs and any relevant medical information

The Royal Borough is gearing up for signifi cant investment in local secondary school buildings and to help us achieve the very best for future generations of children and young people we are asking for your views about how our schools should be improved or developed over the next 5 - 10 years.

This consultation which covers all middle, upper and secondary schools is the first part of a process that will enable you to have your say. At this stage we are not putting forward specific proposals for change - instead we want to hear your general views and ideas about issues that you feel are important, and then we will use them to help us develop options for you to comment on at a later stage.

This consultation runs from Monday 1st December 2008 to Friday 16th January 2009, and views are being sought from parents, pupils and others across the borough. More details about how to respond can be found on page 4. A response form is enclosed.
